Urban Decay - 15th Anniversary Palette

I'll admit it, I am a sucker for a palette of eyeshadows. I flock to it like a fat kid to cake, so when I found out that Urban Decay was coming out with another palette I knew I had to have it. Then I was concerned I'd just end up with eyeshadows I already had, so Urban Decay upped the ante by making these 15 NEW shadows! The day my Macy's got it the Urban Decay counter girl called me and I got there 20 minutes later, she definitely made fun of me for practically teleporting there.

All I have to say, is ZOMG PRETTY. Everything about this palette is gorgeous including the amazing new colors. I feel like it's a wonderful balance between fun and neutral and only one of these colors was a glitter bomb, surprise! Another surprise? The entire under side of the lid is a mirror, +1 to Urban Decay again.

I have got to say that part of me worried that a lot of these would straight up disappear on my skin, but only Tainted seemed like I'd need to pile it on in order to make it more visible. Did you spot the glitterbomb shadow? That's right! Midnight Rodeo, but even with the glitter chunks it's a beautiful color. The clincher for this palette is that each of these are full size shadows, all for $55. Not bad at all. Overall I'm so happy I sprang for this palette. Part of me wonders if I should snag a second one as a backup? No, no, down Liz.

So, will you be springing for it? I've heard mixed reviews from most people on whether they'd like it, but I can say for sure that for people with Olive skin this isn't going to be a regretted purchase based on color payoff.

Spring look with Urban Decay

So, Spring is almost here. I keep hoping it will come soon because I'm tired of rain boots and frizzy hair. I'd also like to finally start doing some more spring like make-up. I went to the Urban Decay counter to look for some inspiration. I'd always wanted to try a lavender eye look but was always too worried I couldn't pull it off with my olive skin. Pastels scare me.

After some looking around though I managed to find their 24/7 Shadow Pencils. The one color that stuck out to me was Morphine, it is this beautiful lavender color with a bit of pearl. I've used Urban Decay's 24/7 eyeliners before and have been a huge fan of their consistency, durability and wearability. When I saw that they'd made these into Shadow Pencils I was super excited to try them. I asked the make up artist if she could show me a good way to wear this. She asked if I had the Naked palette (and I do!) so she showed me a good way to wear it.

Begin with Sin from lid to brow bone. Then put the 24/7 shadow pencil in Morphine on the lid, straight from the pencil and blend with a brush. Next, take Naked and put it on just the crease, then mix Hustle and Dark Horse and add it to just the outer corners of the eyes. To finish the look off add Virgin to the inner corners of the eyes. To top it all off line your eyes with 24/7 eye liner in Bourbon (a rich brown shade with a hint of shimmer).  The look took her a total of 3 minutes to finish, easy and no fuss. You can see the final look to the right here. It's soft and spring like, but not super pastel and overbearing. I was a huge fan with the work she did, I bought Morphine and Bourbon as I didn't own either of them.

Hope you enjoyed this fun Spring look. I'm just glad I was able to find a lavender eye look that wouldn't make me look like A) a kid or B) like pastels blew up on my face. This look truly is a wonderful look for the coming months and I'm excited to try it out myself. The products have wonderful staying power as well, I got my make up done around 1pm and it held strong even at 10pm when I washed it off.

Urban Decay - Show Pony $20 at Sephora

I found a really fun palette that I feel looks wonderful on my NC35 skin. The name of the palette is Show Pony and it's by Urban Decay and I got it from Sephora online. It's a really great value because it comes with an eye liner, their award winning 24/7 in the color zero (black), and also with their awesome eye primer potion.
The shades are gorgeous and highly pigmented. I really love all the colors in the palette. The swatches I'm about to show you are in natural day light and are without a primer.

Overall these colors are extremely flattering on my skin tone. The colors are highly pigmented, the most pigmented one being Pain Killer. For 6 Urban Decay eye shadows I say get this if you can, it's totally worth the $20 for 6 high quality AND flattering colors.
